DALLAS – 91��Ƭ��վ has officially begun construction on Texas Department of Transportation’s (TxDOT) I‑30 The Canyon Improvement Project, a transformative mobility investment in the heart of downtown Dallas. This month, 91��Ƭ��վ joined TxDOT, local officials, and industry partners to commemorate the project’s official groundbreaking and recognize the progress already underway.

Since January, 91��Ƭ��վ and its trade partners have advanced through several major construction milestones, including the demolition of more than a dozen road bridges throughout the corridor. To support this work, the project team executed two full‑weekend shutdowns of I‑30, closing all main lanes between I‑35E and I‑45/U.S. 75. Crews worked continuously through overnight and weekend shifts to safely complete the operation, finishing portions of the work ahead of schedule and successfully reopening the first closure as planned.

A part of TxDOT’s Texas Clear Lanes program, the $888 million project reconstructs a 2.3‑mile section of I‑30 between I‑35E and I‑45 and features widening the main lanes from six to twelve, increasing interchange weave lengths, reconnecting and redesigning city street crossings and enhancing key freight and passenger rail interfaces. Once complete, the improved corridor will provide greater mobility, safety, and connectivity across the city.

As major construction continues over the next five years, careful management of lane closures, detours and bridge work are essential, as well as ongoing communication to provide drivers with updates needed to navigate the work zone safely.
